Patient Guide
and FAQ

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment where you breathe 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. It helps deliver more oxygen to damaged tissue.

  • Increases oxygen to the wound
  • Speeds tissue repair and collagen (scar) formation
  • Encourages new blood vessel growth
  • Helps white blood cells fight infection and can improve some antibiotics
  • Reduces swelling and improves local blood flow
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Chronic, non-healing wounds
  • Radiation-related tissue damage
  • Compromised skin grafts or surgical flaps
  • Ischemic or infected wounds not improving with standard care
  • You will lie down in a clear chamber (monochamber HBOT).
  • Pressure is slowly increased while you breath.
  • Sessions usually last 60–90 minutes, once a day for several weeks (exact plan varies).
  • Generally safe under medical supervision.
  • Common, mild effects: ear or sinus pressure, temporary fatigue.
  • Our care team will review risks and screen for conditions that may make HBOT unsuitable.

Depends on wound type and response. Many patients require multiple sessions (often 20–40). A personalized plan will be recommended upon consultation.

Patients whose wounds are not healing with standard treatments. Eligibility is based on wound type, medical history and a clinical examination.
